JSN1Q
JSN1Q is currently a hypothetical design for a new FPGA-based sythesizer.
When I started with Synthings 1 and Synthings2, I mainly concentrated on the electronics, and didn't worry too much about the enclousre.
Since then, I've built a CNC milling machine capable of producing aluminium panels, which means I can look at the design of a synth hollistically.
I've started with the enclosure (based on an nVent Schroff 1U rack), and added PCBs to form the synthesizer. Several PCBs are envisaged, providing:
- MIDI input
- Audio output
- Display and user input
- Synthesizer engine
It's based on a Trenz Electronik Spartan-7 board, and is modular, so I can extend it with more and more FPGAs to improve its capabilities
